Remember, I am moving over to www.kellystern.net Check it out!
Good morning hangover… yup, big ole wine hangover here… I had a work related event last night. Since my company was a ”platinum” sponsor, that meant we got unlimited drink tickets… which meant wine. And then during the dinner, we got more wine… yikes! My boss was unable to attend, so she asked me to take Jeff. So I did… the wine drinker himself… my co-workers love Jeff… I think… but we all had a decent time. There was a guest speaker… his name was Daryl Green, former Redskins footballer. He played for them for 20 years… which is a pretty big deal in the NFL… no one stays with the same team for more than 20 games anymore…. He was a bit heavy on the ego. I mean he was, at one time, the fastest man on Earth (he reminded us over and over). Also, he has numerous organizations he has set up to help the needy and has a great belief in God…oh, he also coughs every other word… jeeeze… I mean it was soooo bad… someone even got up and gave him water, which he did not use… he just kept hacking during his speech… he made some good little points from time to time, but not the best speech maker in the world… after the event, we were leaving and I actually got a chance to get our pic taken with the fastest man in the world (1983 or something). We also got to ride in the same elevator with him trying to get out the hotel… It is amazing though, how grown men become like children when they see a NFL player… these ‘professionals’ were slobbering all over this guy… he played fucking football… its not like he is Cher or something… so here are pics…

Jeff and I actually dressed up in ties and all…

Jeff, Daryl Green, and me. I am kind of an ego maniac too. I just have to have my pic taken with as many famous people as possible… even if I don’t really know the reason they are soo famous… I have an ego wall in the home office… this pic will be there soon… right next to Simone (sings theme song to Queer Eye) and my pic with Former Virgnia Governor and Senator George ‘Macaca’ Allen….

Taste great and is less filling… me at Barcode (local gay bar near hotel we were at for event)

So, what does silver tie in back right pocket mean??

Cheeseball Jeff cocktailing and playing pool at Barcode…

Me shootin’ some pool too… Jeff says he won… I think I actually won more… but, having all that vodka there, we are lucky we remember getting the cab home… all in all, it was a pretty decent evening… now I just have to suffer through work today, then 3 day weekend… woo hoo!!!!
So much to say…
(Remember, I am also posting over at www.kellystern.net )
Lordy, where to begin tonite… I guess I will start with a little work information that was music to my ears… Starting on June 1st my company has decided to change the rules for summer hours. Last year half the office got half a day one Friday, then the other half the next… this year, the boss decided that we would just close the office at 12:30 every Friday between Memorial Day and Labor Day… SWEEEEEEET!!!! Already have talked to Stacy and Jeff, and I think there will be a bit more golfing going on in my life on Fridays…. woooo hoooo!!!
Next… if you heard a big moan like someone was driving a tractor-trailer up my ass around 630pm EST… that would have been me paying $3.15 a gallon to fill up my car (which was almost below empty)… yup, Texaco was the lucky mother fucker who got to reem me in the ass today… and I did not even get a free reach-around (car wash)… fuck big oil…
Next… There is this thing that happens called Family and Friends Fourth Fridays here in Richmond. It takes place the last Friday of each month at the local bar of choice of “Julie McCoy”…Typically it is some straight bar and as you probably guessed, this is a social event for gay and gay friendly folks… I have not been to one yet, but have been invited and evited each time… well we decided that this month we will go… and as the Evite says, invite all your gay and gay friendly friends and family… so I am inviting anyone who wants to come this week… it is taking place at Stool Pigeons Coop and Grill this time around, which is located at 115 South 15th Street here in Richmond… Things start at 7pm and if you see me there, please say hello… I would love to meet other local gay bloggers… Apparently between 100 to 200 people show up for this event and apparently is a very good mix of professional people… so check it out… I linked the Evite above…
Next… American Idol… Not bad… Let’s start with low points and end this segment on a high note… If I had just two bullets I would have used one on Sanjaya and the other on Taylor Hicks… oh my God!! I guess Michael Jackson needed some money to release the rights to The Beetles Sgt Pepper songs (it is expensive to live in Dubai)… some were good, others, not so good (Taylor Hicks)… Though I am not a huge beat-box fan, I did really like Blake with Dougie Fresh… it was pretty cool… and the ladies with Gladys Knight was nice… Jordin with Rubin was a nice mix… Bette Midler brought tears to my eyes singing my favorite song of hers, Wind Beneath My Wings (The Rose is a close second)…Jordin winning was not really a surprise, but her singing at the end and that song she sang… Lordy… Jeff, Stacy and I were all crying… the song was perfect for the moment and perfect for her to be singing and though she was very emotional, she again nailed the song and made it even more HER song… they better make that her first release and release it next week… it has number 1 written all over it for her…
And Finally… again, Jeff in bed and me with a few cocktails in me… I try to be a little creative for a late night HNT post… well, multiplied by 3… I could not decide which to post… I took all these tonite (just a few minutes ago)… I had another pose in mind, but needed Jeff here to do it… but he is snoozing away, maybe next week I will get the shot I want… but for now… here you go….

Richmond Murders: #17 today
28 days to Gay Blogger Summit (have you RSVP’d)
Surprise, Surprise, Surprise…
I have a bunch to put in this post… so ‘bear’ with me… In no particular order… I have a slight vodka/fresca buzz, a new site, a new pic for my office emails, a new respect for dancing, a new hope for the music industry, and no hope for the oil industry(and our pocketbooks)…let’s begin…
Why in the hell are gas prices going up? Because we as Americans want to have more oil refineries, but don’t want them in our State or Commonwealth… come on… just fucking build a couple of them. The oil companies have BILLIONS…yes, that is ‘illions’ with a ‘B’… hundreds of them… DO SOMETHING!!! The oil companies are shooting themselves in the foot by forcing people to go ‘green’, which is not a bad thing… just don’t whine about it when it happens… I could go on, but I think you get my point… we will all be broke, then, dead before this is settled…

Soooo, I was feeling a little self confident today after I picked out my work outfit… then when I put it on, I just had to have Jeff take a pic… I was looking for a new pic for my signature on my work emails… I got it… I hope…

This is it… during the symposium I helped to organize last week, I actually had a lot of comments about my picture on my emails, and people actually liked the fact they could place a face with a person on the other end (and some of the older ladies really liked it…hehehe)… so this is now my new photo… for the time being…

… and YEAH! This MOfo watches ‘Dancing with the Stars’ AND ‘American Idol’…. our friend Stacy came over and we watched both shows tonite… first AI… Blake did a good job on his first two songs and the third was just not his ‘genre’… Jordan was okay on her first two songs, but she won the whole thing on the last song… We were in tears here… It was also great to see Chris Daughtry sing…YUMMY!! No matter who wins tomorrow night, they both will be soooo successful in their own genre’s… This season has, by far, had some of the best talent and the last 5 on the show could all be succesful in the real recording industry… Kudos for a great season (minus Sanjaya) and getting the real talents to the top… and speaking of real talent… tonite’s Dancing with the Stars (though a little drawn out)… was great… no matter who won, all top three couples were VERY talented. I am very happy, and a little surprised Apolo won… I did think he and his dance partner were way too cute and really great dancers… they brought a lot to the show. I was really surprised that he won though he did not have the name and fame that some of the others did… so Kudos for Apolo winning… he did have class and a great energy that the show needed… Next year will be tough to top…
…and FINALLY… I was going to wait until June 1 to debut this… and some of you have already found the link in previous posts (my project)… but since I got the Pride edition of INSTINCT in the mail, I figured, What the Hell??? So, I broke down and purchased my own domain name and have created a new blog… well, it is the same as this blog, just at a different address…. www.kellystern.net I have pretty much moved all my links and stuff over there… I am still working on moving my blogger and wordpress posts to the site… (if anyone has any info on moving these from blogger and wordpress to godaddy’s quickpost, let me know)… I will likely post on both blogs for the next few days, but eventually will just post on www.kellystern.net , probably this weekend… so get ready for a change… and I am working on another challenge for Pride Month…but I may stick with last years… I must get drunk and think about it… but you will know when it comes… I hope those of you who read this on a regular basis like the new site and as with this one, as I learn more about the quirks it will get better… so ‘bear’ with me…
I think that is all I needed to say tonite…

This and That…
This past weekend was a nice one. We finally got the last part of grass out the way. Now we have no grass in our yard anywhere… the yard is either covered in muclsh, rock, stone, pavers or decking… The only grass you will see anytime will be the crazy crab-grass that pops up through the landscaping… So the only landscaping we have left is just to keep our eyes open for weed and whatnot, and just water on a daily basis (until drought retrictions go into effect later in the summer)… other than that… the weekend was nice… friends, food and fun. The season finale of Brothers and Sisters was great!! Do we have an older gay couple in the makings… should be interesting next season. I am now looking forward to The Closer and The Starter Wife on TNT this summer… This week we get our winners on Dancing with the Stars and American Idol…. after last night I have a feeling Ms. Ali will not be winning the dance competition… I am pulling for Apolo…he has been very consitant throughout the season and he and his dance partner are just toooo cute and they CAN dance! Joey did do a good job with the the freestyle last night… I guess we will see… and tonites Idol will be interesting… both Blake and Jordan are very good in their own ways, but I have a feeling Jordan will be winning this season. Well, anyway… looks like this weekend should be great weatherwise, so I am looking forward to my three day weekend… wooo hooo… and extra day to work on my tan…. speaking of weekends, here are a few more pics from last weekend….

Deep thoughts… like… Are there still any Iraqis left, they seem to be blowing each other up to the tune of 10 or 20 a day… there can’t but so many of them in the country… pretty soon our troops will out-number Iraqi population… hmmm… I bet if we build a $500 million dollar embassy there the size of Vatican City, we will solve everything… hmmmm…. deep thoughts…

Pino seems to think the hammock is more comfortable with my beer belly to lie on…

‘no pictures please’

Gotta love the sun…

Hips don’t lie…
BrettCajun, I think you have some competition when we get to San Fran for the summit… Jeff just had to top you (though he is a bottom…heheheh)
Socially Retarted…
This is my new favorite phrase. Someone used it to describe someone else and I about peed my pants. I know someone is going to get pissed and think I am offending some poor mentally challenged individual… I don’t mean to offend, but the person this phrase was describing is soooo dead on. Basically it was used to describe someone who can be okay to hang out with, but as they drink, they loose all sense… all common sense and all common courtesy. They want to be the center of attention and the center of conversation, but really have nothing to say without pissing someone off or aggrevating the living shit out of them. So ’socially retarted’ is my new phrase. I love it!! Feel free to use it… just not on me and especially not at the blogger summit.
So we ended up watching Shortbus last night… it is a sexual movie, but there was not as much sex as I thought there would be… but it is a very good movie and I highly recommend it. There is more to this movie than just sex. There are some very good sub-plots with real meaning in regards to relationships. Very good. So we watched the movie only after a day in the sun in the backyard. So, yes, it is that time year again… I am going to pummel you with a ton of pictures this summer from our backyard and hot tub… so my apologies… not! hehehe… It has taken me all day to make this post… yikes… I ran out this morning to pick up a case of beer after a couple of cups of coffee and I have to admit, when I stepped on the scale upstairs it was really low, so I wanted to get an official weigh in at the gym, so I stopped there and weighed, did not work out, just weighed in… I am sooo gay… and I was lower than I have been in a long time… sweeeeet…so I come home after that this morning to have my Sunday screwdriver and start posting and then my brother showed up with our mulch, so we had to mulch, then Joe and Laird showed up for brunch and some sunning… so I got side tracked by Laird fabulous Bloody Mary’s and it is now 3pm ish and I have had a few pieces of turkey bacon and so we are now on the front porch out of the sun waiting for our food to finish cooking then we will nap in the sun this afternoon and get ready for season finale’s of Housewives and Brothers and Sisters…. so here are pics from yesterdays fun and sun…

Just me lying in the hot tub… ahhhh being drunk is soooo nice…

Chris trying to get another MySpace shot and a chance to show off for Average Gay Joe… he wants your email Joe…

Just another day…
The week is over!! Thank God! Though I still have things to wrap up from the symposium I helped organize, it is done for the most part and I can get back into the stuff I am supposed to be doing at work. But until Monday, forget work! Yesterday I actually scooted out of work an hour early… I was wiped out. I had been up since 5am thanks to the generosity of my neighbor. Bless her heart (we say that in the South as a preamble to something not so good), she is pretty much deaf and has a few screws loose, but she put her dog outside and apparently forgot about it and went to bed… so before 5am the thing starts barking continuously… very loud… wanting in… this get our dogs up and about, which means I get up and let them out… and in the process, I take the water hose and spray the neighbors dog to shut it up… it worked! But I could not go to back to sleep, so I did some work on a personal project. But, back to leaving work early… I had put in plenty of time this week, so I left… came home and went to the gym before I sat down, or I would have been down for the count. We thought friends would be coming over for movie night, but everyone just wanted to chill at home, so tonite will be movie night. Jeff bought the unrated version of Shortbus, so we are all going to watch it in HDTV… nothing like hi-def sex scenes… I have not seen the movie yet, but Chris says it is awesome and not just because of the sex… we will see. So after the gym, I grabbed a beer and some chips and then layed on the sofa and slept through the evening news… When I awoke, I felt VERY refreshed. Jeff was cooking dinner, so I grabbed my Vodka/Fresca and headed upstairs to cut my hair… the rest of the night we just drank, played on the computers and watched Sweet Home Alabama on TNT. (there was also other fun thrown in too… tee hee). So now I sit here on the front porch enjoying the peace of the gayborhood before everyone gets up and moving… the sound of the church bells going off… the sound of the fountain in my front yard and the breeze that gently blows making the windchimes ring…

So, do I look a little hungover or what? I don’t really feel too bad. I will probably go the the gym here shortly the it will be yard work and house work, maybe some laying in the sun if it warms up a bit more…

Speaking of yard work… our Peoni is doing so well… I love this bush…I just wish the flowering parts were not sooo heavy that they drooped over like they do…but that is what this plant is about… still so pretty… short story about it… when we moved here it was in our back yard. We dug it up in hopes that it would live if we moved it… it did… but this bush has been here since the 1950’s according to our neighbor Ms. Thelma (who has been here since the 50’s too, and she is not the one with the dog)… Apparantly at one time it was huge in the back, but when the lady who lived here before passed and the family sold the house… the guy who remodeled it, chopped it down (along with a huge rose bush in the front)… we are not looking for it to get huge again, so we cut it back to the ground in the fall…

These are Lillies del Oro…and they are blooming like crazy and will do so all summer, keeping some color in our front yard… this year they are even bigger than last, I think maybe even twice the size as last year. I love them… soo pretty…. well, I am going to get out of here… have a great Saturday!!

Did you hear that?? (HNT)
That would be the sound of relief, on the rocks, or as you may have seen me reference it here… Vodka/Fresca… I only have one more day left in the work week, and it will be busy, but stress levels will be down (I hope). For the last month I have been working on getting together this symposium we had today. Working with my boss, another person in my office, 6 different home office companies who sent speakers, potential attendees, host location, getting the word out via email, snail mail and word of mouth, and other things… and being my typical self, I was trying to make it as easy as possible for everyone involved… I did not do all the work, but I did do a lot of the coordinating and in the end, I think things went pretty well. Initial feedback from attendees and my coworkers was pretty good, but the truth will be told tomorrow at work when I turn in all the receipts. I have worked on these things before, but never as involved as I was this time. The ‘pull it out your ass moment’ came when one of the presenters was short 30 minutes on time…I was suppose to do a little something at the end of the day about our website… just a 5 minute thing, but I stepped up early, got the computer logged onto our company website and ‘rambled’ for 15 minutes about all the web could help them with, with the help of some of my co-workers I was able to stretch it out until the people providing food and beverages were able to scramble the break together… To some extent it was fun… though sometimes stressful, especially this week, but hopefully everyone was pleased. There are things that need to be worked on, and things that need to stay the same. But we all live and learn. Will I get a huge raise and extra vacation time for my efforts…NO!, but I did get some good food, good conversation, good education in my field and I also got to meet many people that I usually only deal with on the phone… meeting them in person was the highlight of the day. Because of the stress of the week, being sick and all… I did not really have my A game on, but today could have been a B+ day when it came to smoozing… I have to get my A-game prepped for San Fran in June though… I have a lot of gay-bloggers to “impress”….hehe… anyway… I told myself this morning that if I got through the day and went to the gym (to make up for not going Tues/Weds, and eating really bad)… that when I got home I could relax and have a few cocktails to get the weekend started early… so I have had a few cocktails… and I figured I needed to do an HNT post… so I got really relaxed, took off my pants to get comfortable, and had my man snap this photo… Hope you all have a wonderful HNT….

So long Jerry…
This is going to make me late for work, but I ran across it on Yellow Dog Speaks and it made me and Jeff laugh out loud this morning… As Yellow Dog says… For you Jerry! I think the song is by White Zombie…
A walk ruined by a little white ball.
So yesterday I was feeling better, and I got the chance to leave work and go play in a golf tournament. The format was Captains Choice. Which means all four people hit the ball and then you play the best shot. I personally usually play this format very well. I am usually there for the team. I usually make shots, sink a putt or two and save the team on occassion. NOT YESTERDAY! You know it is going to be bad when your first shot off the tee goes right into the water. UGHHH!!! Get me a beer!! I did. I had several beers. This usually loosens me up, makes me more comfortable hitting the ball, but yesterday I just could not pull it together. I did have a good time though. My co-worker Doug and I rode in the same cart and we just cracked each other up the whole time, cuz neither of us could really pull it together… though Doug did sink several big putts to keep us in the game. The other two guys on our team really held it together and had some amazing shots. Thank goodness. Now I have two pretty big days ahead of me at work, lets hope things go well. I am sooo looking forward to this weekend. I would like to get to the gym at some point, but that won’t happen until Thurday night, maybe… lets hope. Anyway, here are couple of pics…

My pregame face…I am happy, jamming to some tunes on my way to the golf tournament… getting in the winning mood…

It was like a scene from Caddyshack… this little squirrel was too cute eating this box he/she had gotten out the trash can… what was really cute was it carrying it across the course…. hehehe…

Though I was playing bad… I kept the smile on my face… it would not last long though… I actually had to tee off again…ughhhh

Not soo happy… I wanted more booze, but we were winding down the game, so I had to sober up… damn!
All in all, it was a fun time. Hopefully next time around I will hit the ball a little better and hopefully I will have a designated driver so I can really have some fun… hehehe…
Happy Hump Day!!
Ding Dong the (blank) is dead…
Okay… I was on the golf course all this afternoon and just saw the news of the passing of Jerry Falwell. For those of you who do not know, I was born and raised in Lynchburg, VA… the city he had control over for soooo many years. He is the reason I first heard cuss words out of my Grandma’s mouth. I was 16, had just met Jerry at the Bicentennial Celebration for the City of Lynchburg… he sat in front of me and my friends… we watched the James Madison University Marching Band do a great performance… he was impressed as we were (we were band geeks)… he turned around at the end and asked us what we thought and if we thought of attending what was then Libery College… we said thanks, but no. I was telling my Grandmother the story of my brush with fame a few days later, and at that point, my Grandmother, a very religous woman, said… “I went to school with him when I was a kid and he is an asshole!”… after I picked up my jaw from the floor… I just moved on… but I had never heard her say so much as ‘damn!”… so he must have been bad… Then several years later when I worked for the NBC affiliate there, I had a couple of chances to interview the man. A big burly type. The kind you would want as a grandfather, until he opened his mouth… then you wanted to take your microphone and smack him in the head… very opinionated… set in his ways… and truly believes in what he is saying… I guess you can respect someone for holding their ground and standing up for what they believe, but an open mind from time to time would have been nice… come to find out later, he had counseled some of my family back in the late 50’s and early 60’s… the outcome did not have a good turnout… I never got the chance to meet my Grandfather and one of my aunts and her husband (who are still a part of that church) got suckered in… then I understood my Grandma’s distain for this man.
Sooo, while I feel for his family and their loss… I do not feel that we as a culture have lost anything that great. What we have lost is the voice of a man who preached against the very fabric this country was built on… freedom… freedom of choice, freedom of religion and the freedom to love the person you want to.
Love the one you’re with! Regardless!
I am sure I will have more to say later… but until then… my condolences to the Falwell family, and my hopes that God will open Jerry’s eyes to what it means to love ALL people…
It’s a new day!!!
It is amazing what a difference a day makes. Yesterday I was feeling like hell. Congested etc… But I went to work anyway. I had shit to do. Answering the phone, most everyone I spoke with said it did not sound like me and I sounded awful… So, I trudge through work and knock out most everything I needed to do (for the moment anyway). The boss comes to my desk a little before lunch and asks what I would be doing after lunch… I ramble off something and she looks at me and says ‘you should go home’… so I wrapped up things and came home. I chugged some water. Took a nice little nap and then forced myself to the gym so I could sit in the Suana and try to sweat out some of whatever I have. I did do a bit of cardio before jumping in the suana. But it is amazing what sitting in a wood room at 220 degrees can do for the mind, body and soul. While I did not feel immediately better, as the night went on, I could feel a big change happening. I went to bed at a decent time and got a pretty decent night sleep (except for about an hour of time when the neighbors dog was just barking for no reason). Today I will go into the office for a few hours before I head off to a industry golf tournament with a couple of my co-workers. It should be nice… sunny with highs in the 80’s and a slight breeze. With so much going on this week professionally and personally, it will be nice to get out and whack the a little white ball around and reduce some stress. I can’t wait for this week to end.
Other stuff… 15 days… something new… what will it be?? Can you wait??

Stop running!!!
My nose keeps running, my head hurts, and I have a nagging cough… Though I am feeling a little better, if I did not have so much shit to do at work this week, I would take another day of rest. I tried to take it easy yesterday, we just did a little bit of yard work once the sun came out. Actually I broke our shovel while trying to dig up the huge ass zebra plant from the front yard… we moved it to the backyard. In the process I think I have pulled a muscle in my forearm, which is not helped by the fact that I will using it all day today typing, like I am now… ughh… I also have a golf tournament tomorrow, I hope it does not effect my game. We will see. For now, Happy Monday! I must get ready for work….
Rain Delay…
Alrighty then… we were out actually working on our backyard and the rain rolled in, we put everything away, got a little wet (I about threw Jeff down in the mud for fun, but we were expecting friends)… made cocktails and moved to the front porch… so I decided to finally post the photos from our dinner and game night at Chris and Stephs apartment… We had a blast! (though I my cold/flu/sinus/nose running/head aching ass was not in my best form). So the evening went like this….

As the sun was setting on the city we call Richmond… there was a mess about to take place, it was called ‘game night’… woohooo!!!!

The players… Steph, Chris, Stacy, Jeff and me(not pictured)… cocktails in hand we were ready to go… Fridays game was ‘Catch Phrase’… and it was interesting, to say the least…

Jeff and I laughing it up as folks try to figure out the words…. this game is like the $64,000 Pyramid… where you try and get your team mate to guess what the word or phrase is…

‘Praise Jesus!!!’

‘I am the devil and I am right!!!’

‘Okay, maybe not… I am going to hide…’

Let Chris get hold of the camera and there is going to be at least one, if not more, self pics for his MySpace profile.

Jeff and Stacy getting into this new fangled electronic game that made us think while we were drunk…

Chris has to love himself sometimes…(Average Gay Joe, we may have to do a little connection here)

Jeff trying explain his word… lots and lots and lots of explaining…

‘Stop the press… I am going to get this… I swear… I swear!!!’

‘Here take this fucking thing!!!!’

Look at that face…

Steph’s pic for Chris’s MySpace profile.

It is not a party unless you try to shove a size 13 mans foot into a small ass high heel shoe…

…and finally the group shot…Me, Steph, Chris, Stacy, and Jeff… oh what fun!!!
Now, we will get ready and watch the race this evening and maybe get in a little trouble…tee hee… stay tuned
Last minute HNT
I have been soooo busy this week and have been half brain dead… so tonite I have had a few vodka frescas… Jeff has hit the sack, and my dumb ass stayed up and surfed the net and am watching The Fifth Element (which Bruce Willis is the hottest he has ever been)… and realized I did not post an HNT pic… so my slightly buzzed ass took one and winked at ya! Happy HNT!!

This is what I get for not going to bed with Jeff…ughhh… Friday will be tough I am sure…
Made me laugh out loud!

Idol ATM
(Take Two) Watching American Idol last night, something popped in to mind as Seacrest announced that over 45 million people voted in this weeks competition. How many of these votes were texted in at 99 cents a pop. If just 20 percent of the votes were from text messaging, that would be about 8 million votes… which cha-chings into 8 million dollars for cell phone companies… This show is a money machine… Throw in Coke and Ford sponsorships and you have an endless ATM… I gues a big ole Kudos goes out to Simon Cowell for creating this money monster… especially after a report out yesterday stating spring television viewership is down a lot from last year… a time when networks are trying woo advertising dollars for the fall season… I am glad though, that Blake made it another week… I think he will be the next one out… and speaking of out… after last nights show… he is gay! He more flamboyant last night than he has been all season. Maybe it had to do with hanging out with three sassy black girls, but I think is gay! I mean after the plug for the new Fantastic Four movie, he says he is Torch… hellooooo…. GAY! I can’t wait for the media attention to die down after the season is over with, and then we get ready to see the Idol show go on the road and a whole new media whirlwind starts to wind up when it is announced that Blake and Chris will tie the knot when the show makes its way through Boston Mass (where same sex couples can marry)… that will set the religous right on their ears… hehehehe

In other television notes… Congrats to Anne Curry for 10 years on The Today Show. Though I like Merideth, I was a little pissed when Anne did not get Couric’s position… oh well….

Pino just was not into Idol last night… may have had to do with those two bottles of vodka and martini glass…heheheheeee

Cough Cough
I feel it… the tickle in my throat… and not the tickle I want. Yesterday it really start to get to me. I became one of those hackers I hate. I have been listening to two folks cough and hack now at work for over a month. They have had this on-going sickness that neither can seem to beat. No fault of their own. They have taken sick days… they have hit the doctors offices, but just can’t get rid of the cough. Now I am getting it. All day yesterday I kept walking around the office thanking them for the cough. I do not want to take days off from work if it gets worse. I limited amount of time to take off. I would prefer it to be for fun in the sun or to just relax. I will be pissed if this gets worse. I am going to get my remedy ready for the weekend. Orange juice with that ’special’ touch. I will kill the germs. Or at least get them so drunk they loose their way and fall out my system (like my liver.. tee hee). Anyway, not much else to talk about… work is crazy busy… I am still toying with moving the blog to my own domain…. thanks to those of you who have made suggestions… I am still researching my options…and still looking for more suggestions. Oh well… Happy Hump Day!!

Is it time for a change… again?
So I am considering purchasing a domain name and also having godaddy.com host my blog… has anyone ever used godaddy.com for blogging?? They offer up a lot more space than wordpress and I am quickly using up my alotted space on wordpress… I post a lot of pictures, so I need to expand… and for like $30 I can get my own domain name and have it hosted on godaddy.com servers…hmmm what to do?? does anyone have any other suggestions??
So yesterday Jeff and I headed to Lowe’s and got stuff for the garden, but it was sooooo windy out, we decided to hold off on the planting and all… we stopped at Starlite on the way back for some brunch and cocktails, and then headed home where we hopped online, watched Ugly Betty… had a couple of friends stop by for more drinks and the next thing you know I my alarm is going off at 6:25am….ughhh… rough start to the day… but I survived and even made it to the gym…

Me waiting for Jeff to return the cart at Lowe’s

Jeff being all cute with his hat on backwards… and it even looked sexier when it was all he was wearing tee hee…
Okay I borrowed this idea from Greg over at his blog… Go to Wikipedia, and type in the month and day of your birth (no year). Then list 3 events, 2 birthdays and 1 death
July 18th
Events: 1938 - Douglas “Wrong Way” Corrigan arrives in Ireland. 1953 - Rock star Elvis Presley made his first recording in Sun Studios. 1969 - After a party on Chappaquiddick Island, Senator Ted Kennedy from Massachusetts drives an Oldsmobile off a wooden bridge into a tide-swept pond and his passenger, Mary Jo Kopechne, dies.
Birthdays: 1895 - George Machine Gun Kelly, American gangster (d. 1954). 1913 - Red Skelton, American actor and comedian (d. 1997)
Death: 1954 - George Machine Gun Kelly, American gangster (b. 1895)
Machine Gun Kelly died on his birthday… mmm hmmm… I like the name though… I shoot a lot, but not machine guns…hehehe…I am bad…

Getting all wet…
Saturday was kind of a dreary day in the R I C… They were only able to get 12 laps of the NASCAR Race in before they stopped it and rescheduled for today. The Cinco de Mayo Celebration we went to was not crowded at all. Maybe 200 or 300 people spread out and wet. More on that in a minute, but I wanted to point out something I have noticed about Craigslist Personals… When straight people post adds for dates or sex, they just place words in the add (for the most part)… when the gay people do it, there are a lot more pics and many of them are naked pics. What does this say about the two different cultures. I guess if you are gay and out, you really don’t care who sees your pic? or we gay folk want to know up front what we are getting into… no surprises… also, Jeff and I have accounts on Gay.com and Manhunt… not that we are perves or something, but we like to meet new people and hang out from time to time. Hell, many of my friends here in Richmond I met through Gay.com… both sites are nice social sites most of the time… anyway, back to this picture thing… if you are on either of these sites, or personal sites in general, don’t you think you should be required to have a picture. I cannot tell you how many times people say that they do not have a picture to share… come on! In this day and age of computers and digital cameras, you do not have a picture on your computer that you can at least email. I understand that if you are not out to family, friends or coworkers, you may not want to post your pic in your profile, but at least you should have one to share with a person you are chatting with. We like to put a face with the person we are having conversation with. It makes us feel a little more comfortable. Back in my single days, I got burned way too many times by “trust me, people tell me I am a good looking guy.” Well people lied to you… you have not seen 195 pounds since college and no way in hell you are 35… and that ain’t 9… anyway… it is just something I wanted to get off my chest. I think that if you put your pic out there for people to see and they chat you up, then they are interested in you from the get go. They wont close you out of conversation. And they are more likely to want to meet. I would think that people would be more likely to meet if they knew what they were getting into, at least on the outside. Just my opinion, now on to Cinco de Mayo…

With the shitty weather, we all threw on our parkas and headed down to Browns Island for the celebration… of course there were margaritas and corona to be had… and we did.

Chris and Stacy, ritas in hand… Stacy really wanted to go to this event to see one of her favorite bands and they were the headliner, so that meant they would not go on until 7:30… we got there at 3:30… so we had to kill four hours of wet weather by drinking and people watching… and listen to several other bands along the way.

Jeff just had to buy a sombrero… he collects these things… I wouldn’t let him get it until I had a few ritas in me… Some of the other bands were okay, kind of loud… there was a U2 cover band that was really good…

Chris here is a pic for you to use on your MySpace profile…. I mean, it has been 24 hours since you updated that thing… hehehe… So like I said before, we had time to kill while we drank and waited, so we watched hot straight guys, and snapped a few photos of them…

Chris really liked this guy… we called him Bonfire Boi, since he had bonfire written across his chest… he had some cute friends too…

This cowboy hat wearing guy seemed to be lost most of the day… we really did not see him chatting with anyone. It was like his friends dropped him at the gate and said they would be back and didn’t… or maybe his date did not get to see a pic first and left him… we thought he was cute though…

The beer distributor guy was cute in a redneck sorta way… We just wished the weather was better so that there would have been more skin to see… everyone was all bundled up yesterday because of the weather…

Our favorite of the day was this HOT daddy… he was there with the wife, 2 kids and grandma. The wife was buzzed, the grandma was tanked (we watched her stumble all over) and daddy was pretty lit too, but he was sooo hot. When he was spinning his kids around and just playing with them, it was too cute… and he had some sexy legs… we watched him all day long…

I don’t know what was funnier, the fact he forgot to take the sticker off the hat, or the holster for his moraccas…

This is the Smithereens… the band Stacy reall wanted to see… and she had not seen them in a few years because when the lead singer came out, she about fell over (margaritas did not help that)… in a loud sorta of voice she exclaimed ‘fuck he got fat… he got really fat…fuuuucccckkkk’… she was too funny… but as they got into their set, the rain really started to come down, so we had to leave… we were cold, wet, hungry and somewhat drunk… we decided to head to Barcode and grab some appetizers before going home… it was sooo nice they had the heat cranked!

Jeff and I in the bar… a little happier since we were warm…

At the celebration, they were giving out these little panchos for corona bottles… they were way too cute, so I grabbed 6 of them… and had to put one on my beer in the bar…
All in all it was a pretty good day… it would have been a great day if the weather would have cooperated, but then again, i would probably be working off a much worse hangover… Today, we are going to run to Lowe’s and get some seeds and plants so Jeff can start his garden… it is sunny today, but a little windy here on the front porch, so we will probably watch The Queen (movie) this afternoon and catch up on Ugly Betty and Greys… then all new shows tonite on ABC… wahoo… I hope everyone had as good a weekend as we did… now lets just make it through this workweek.

Friends, Food and Fun!
Lordy its a big week in the R I C… The Queen stopped in to say hello, our good friend and roomate Carey packed up and moved back to Indiana (good luck with the job interviews), NASCAR is in town, Cinco de Mayo is today, and The Kentucky Derby is being run today. So many things going on, whats a girl to do??? Throw a party! We kind of threw together a last minute Cinco de Mayo thing Friday. We had discussed it earlier in the week, but really brought it together yesterday. Since we are supposed to be going to an outdoor concert this afternoon, we figured we would have a little celebration Friday night.. Quatro de Mayo… I actually thought a friend of mine who is town working a satellite truck for The Queens visit and NASCAR races, was going to make it by, but she got tied up at work. Hopefully she will be able to get by here before she heads out of town on Sunday. We have a pretty tame agenda today… I am going to hit the gym here in a little bit, then Stacy and Chris should get here this afternoon and we are going to head out to Browns Island for the Cinco de Mayo celebration… Stacy really wants to see The Smithereens and the Zydeco band that is playing today… but as I sit here on the front porch, it is very overcast and I think they are calling for rain this afternoon and evening… so it could be cold and wet and a small crowd… but we will venture out anyway… so on with some pictures…

the blimp is in town for the NASCAR Race this weekend, and he flew over my house yesterday… I just think blimps are neat… it sounded like a little helicopter flying overhead, just moving so slowly…

Doesn’t the house look festive… Jeff suggested we pull out the pink Christmas lights and put them up… I think we will keep them up all summer. At night when sitting on the porch, they give you enough light to see who you are talking too, but not so bright that its like daylight… It gives the porch a nice warm feeling. Relaxing. So this is where everyone ended up Friday evening shooting the shit and having Corona’s and cocktails…

Chris and his roomate Stephanie came over… Stephanie is just a sassy girl… she has a great sense of humor (you have to, to deal with us queens) and pour a few drinks in her, and she is even sassier (?)… We think she could be the sister of Jordan from American Idol… Chris says she is a good singer, but we could not get her drunk enough to belst out a few tunes last night… maybe next time…

Jeff and Stacy hanging out on the front porch chatting it up with …

Joe, Laird and Steph… it was just one of those evenings where there were 7 of us sitting around having great conversation… just some background music… gossip… and just good company… no drama…

Here is “Paula Paco”, our chef for the evening… Jeff cooked up some great food during the evening… shrimp and pineapple wrapped in turkey bacon, artichokes wrapped in turkey bacon, cherry tomatoes topped with homemade pesto and mozarella cheese slightly baked…then chicken fajitas that were tooooooo good…. we called him ‘Paula Paco’ because he loves Paula Dean and I think he got some of the food ideas from her or some chef on the food channel… oh well… all the food was great!! Thanks honey!

See what scotch and water can do to you… Laird doing his best impression of the Queen… hehehe

Little Ms. Innocent and her cosmo… after eating, we all moved back out to the front porch for dessert… well, a couple of rounds of cosmos…

“Jordan…sing us a song girl… PLEEEEEEEZE!!!” Don’t you just love the big lavendar roses from our bush in the front yard… they make lovely accessories… Steph, make Chris use this as your pic on his MySpace… hehehe

Notice I am being good and drinking Corona Light… Happy Cinco de Mayo!!!

Your lovely hosts for the evening…don’t we look all sexy and buff in our sleeveless shirts…

The whole gang for the evening… guys and gals we had a great time and look forward to doing it again soon… now off to the gym and to have some fun this afternoon… I am sure there will be pictures to post in the morning… TTFN!

You know it is going to be a good day when…
I typically do not post from work, but I had to do this real quick. I get to work early today, and I work for an insurance brokerage. Somewhere along the line our number got put into the telephone information as the main number for one of our insurance carriers. This means, when people call information for this company, they get our number. I field calls everyday for it. Coming in early today, the phone rings and I answer. It is a guy with a very southern accent and this is how it goes.
Me: Good morning, (my company name), this is Kelly, how can I help you?
Him: Hi, my mother had an insurance policy on me with you guys and she died yesterday and i am wonderin’ how i can cash it in?
Me (holding in laughter): Are you trying to reach (insurance company name)??
Him: YUP
Me: Their number is 888-xxx-xxxx,
Him (in cheerful southern voice): Thank you sir!!!
Me: You are welcome, have a nice day!
For some reason, I do not think this guy was too close to his mother. And he is going to be upset that he can’t “cash in” a life insurance policy that quick… though he said she had one on him… he would have to die to be able to cash it in… I wonder if she had one with him as the beneficiary… hmmm gotta love a redneck…
By the way… do you like the new header? and what about Jeff bringing sexy “back”?? You guys must have liked it, it was the most clicked thing on the blog yesterday…
Happy Friday!!
HNT, Fit for a Queen…
Well, the City of Richmond, VA is buzzing this morning… and not because they stayed out drinking last night, but because the Queen of England is visiting our fair Commonwealth. Yup, she will be touring our newly renovated Capitol before she heads to Jamestown in honor of the 400th Anniversary of its founding. I entered a contest for tickets to see Queen Elizabeth up close and personal, but I did not win… boo hoo… I will be watching everything via the internet in the comfort of my leather desk chair at work… that is if my boss does not make me turn it off… I think they might expect me to actually get some work done. Half of downtown Richmond is closed off for this EVENT. They have even given the day off to many of the state employees who work in the adjacent buildings to where this is going on… lucky. I am sure you will see the RIC all over the place today as the Queen makes her fourth visit to the USA (ie… formerly part of the British Empire).
Well, as one Queen comes to town, another leaves… Our good friend and roomate Carey is leaving Friday morning… he is moving back to Indiana. He has a couple of job interviews lined up, so wish him luck. That said, we all got together last night at our friends Joe and Lairds for a little going away dinner…. we had some great food and watched American Idol. Laird grilled these turkey brats that were to die for… but the main thing was to wish Carey well on his new adventures.

Jeff and I on the deck

So, we are hoping for the best for Carey in Indiana and I will keep you posted as to how is doing. Once he gets settled, we may be making a road trip out to see him. Thanks to Joe and Laird for hosting us, we had a blast. Now for my guest HNT pic. I took this pic of Jeff in Puerto Vallarta during our little vacation. He is looking out of our hotel room over the city. I just thought this was a very sexy shot of him… Happy Thursday.

This and that…
Just a few things to chat about this morning… I had made a post yesterday morning, but someone pointed out something about how it was delivered, so I yanked it in the heat of the moment. I somewhat regret pulling it, because I think the person just read things the wrong way and I was posting more, tongue in cheek, than in seriousness. But I got pissed and hit the delete button. Oh well. I should take my own advice sometimes. My blog is just that, MY blog. It is here for me to post feelings, whether good, bad or indifferent. Many times they involve other folks, and I have to keep that in mind when posting things. I never intentionally want to hurt feelings or make anyone feel bad. But, sometimes it happens. From time to time I will whine about things and tend to repeat things too. But I guess that is me and in my nature. I also tend to focus on my weight a lot. I do this because it is one of the reasons I started this blog, to keep track of my progress as I attempt to get my self in shape and in better health. I put it all out there for the world to see. I do creatively post pics to make me look better and thinner than I really am. Sometimes my post may make it seem I am fishing for compliments, or ego boost. More than likely, I am. I like the attention. I realize that I am a good looking guy. I try not to be big headed about it, and there are just sometimes when I would like my ego stroked. There are days that I do not feel pretty. Every girl has those days. There are also times that I may post pics of me, friends or other things that may push the envelope. They may offend folks sexually, politically or religiously. For this I don’t really apologize. I may not like some things I see on the internet or television, so I just move on. We all cannot agree on all things all the time. I hope everyone understands that. To wrap up this section, let me say this… The full intent of this blog is to lay out my feelings about things going on in my life, in politics, in the world. I also use it as a place to post pictures of my family and friends, sort of like a photo-book with journal entries. If something should ever happen to my house, my computer or my files, I will always be able to come back here and pull many pics and thoughts out so they are not totally lost. Kind of like a back up safe hosted by blogger and wordpress. If something should ever happen to me, this will be a place where people can come back to remember me (if anyone really wanted to). So if I sometimes seem like I am fishing for compliments or comments… I probably am, whether consciously or not. I can’t apologize for this. I can say that I hope that because I may post something offensive or something that sits with you the wrong way that you will come back the next day or next post. Leave me a message in my email or in comments about concerns you may have with a particular post. I am free to post what I want and you are free to make your own opinion about my thoughts and then comment on them.
On to other things… there is an uproar about illegal immigration in this country. I will try to make this quick. I say make it a little easier on immigrants. It is what our country’s foundation is based on. Immigrants are what have made the USA what it is today… a world powerhouse. I also think it can only help our job market. Immigrants are more willing to work for less money and do a good job. There are so many times I have gone to a restaurant, hotel, retail outlet etc… and had to deal with attitude, lack of service and just generally bad people. At least when someone who is here from another country makes the effort to work here, they give it their all. They appreciate the fact that they have a job and they actually try to do it well. My only complaint sometimes is the language barrier and maybe that should be part of reform. To be legal, you must pass some sort of English test to make sure you understand the language. Other than that, these folks tend to do the jobs our own citizens will not do, or want a huge amount of money to do (ie.. farm hands, construction, cleaning services etc…) If we make it harder for folks to hold these jobs and then have to double what is paid to those who do them, it can only hurt the overall economyby increasing the cost of goods and services. There has to be some middle ground here. I know illegal immigrants are putting a strain on our system as we have to cover expenses they may incurr, but if they were legal and were taxed, it could help ease that burden a bit. Lets face facts, the latin population in America is one largest we have now. They are one of the most loyal cultures. They are fast becoming a big money spending segment of the population and will happily take their money somewhere that respects them. Companies are learning this and soon, politicians will have to understand this too.
That is going to do it for today. Thanks for reading. As always, I appreciate the fact many of you tune in day to day to see what I may be doing or saying. I am really looking forward to meeting many fellow bloggers in June and hope to meet many more along the way. Soooo, it is Wednesday, so “whadda ya want to know?” Just ask…I will likely tell, but it may be tomorrow before I post answers as we have a going away shin-dig to go to this evening. I will post more on that with pictures. Woo Hoo!!! Happy Hump Day!

WE ARE IN!!!!!

Jimmi, I am blaming you… You emailed me and wanted to know if we were coming to the Summit… I emailed you saying we would not be there… then we hit Travelocity and looked at rooms and flights… seemed reasonable… and we thought about it… figured out the maps and where everything is taking place… looked for hotels… and decided if the AMEX would take it after Mexico, we would do it. AMEX said yes… so we are booked! We may be eating out the streets and sucking on the ice of empty drinks, but we will be there… hehehe… actually, I have to be in Atlanta the following Monday, and the flights we have take us through ATL, so I will just hop off there and go on about my business… can we say creative packing??? We are looking forward to this trip. Jeff has a good friend out in San Fran and he has been asking us to come out there for a while… so we are going to kill two birds with one stone… should be a blast… so who can I send the bill to??? heheheh I really do look forward to meeting everyone… and Jetboy, Jeff is smelling a K sandwich… hehehehe… are you there?? and please tell me that Union Square is as close to things as I think they are… From the Evite, I can already tell that it will be a good time… We are soo looking forward to meeting so many of you guys… Dan, thanks for spearheading this and getting it organized… and anyone else involved. Now Jeff and I have even more reason to hit the gym and get in shape… BrettCajun, we would bring our rackets, but we will save that for another day… I am soooo stoked!!!
That time of year…
Get ready folks… it is that time of the year. The time of the year where we turn down the temperature on the hot tub (not so hot tub), break out suntan lotion, and turn on the music. Oh yeah, and take many many many pictures of us hanging out in the backyard doing nothing but drinking and sunning and me with my shirt off showing the world my belly (hopefully less and less of a belly this summer). I know, you wonder, why would they bother doing the same thing over and over again, and also wonder, how many freaking pictures will we have to deal with the same thing over and over again. Well, you will have to deal with it a lot. Sorry. It’s my blog and I can post as many of the same type pictures here if I want to. Because, quite honestly, if I don’t keep track of it here, it will likely fade away in my memory. With all that is happening in the world these days, it is only right for me to take tons of pics of my friends and family, post them here, and periodically look back at them to remind me of how lucky I am, no matter what curve balls get thrown at me in life…

So I am going to have my coffee here on the front porch, this fine Sunday morning… and by the time I finish downloading pics and posting them, I may move on to bloody marys or screwdrivers… it is Sunday afterall… and well, the liver does not get a rest until Monday… this is MY day of rest… and I am going to rest, relax, get some sun, take a “nap” or two, read some blogs (I hope) and just have a good day (I hope)… all new episodes of Housewives and Brothers and Sisters tonite… woo hoo…
Even Pino had to get in on the non-action of laying in the sun with me… he is just too cute sometimes…

Jeff, Chris and the dogs all taking in the sun…

I feel so ‘Petticoat Junction’ here… for you youngins’, that was a show from the 60’s where the opening sequence had three ladies swimming in a water tower with their clothes hanging over the edge… I don’t know why it popped in my head when I saw this pic of me… but it did…. I linked Wikipedia so you can see a little of the history of the show. Since it was cancelled before I was born, I guess I saw it in syndication when I was growing up…

Mr. Chris here assuming the position of beer and cig while laying out… get familiar with this pic, I am sure you will see him with cig and cocktail in hand a lot this summer… now if we could just get him to do some landscaping when he visits, we would be good to go…

Computer break for me… Saturday was somewhat cloudy, so on occassion we would come in and hop on the the computers. Carey spent most of the day working, and I actually had to go help my best friend Sloan get moved into his new apartment. Yup, Sloaner is back from Jersey and he has this sweet little studio apartment downtown. I feel really bad though. When we were moving his stuff, the last piece of furniture was the sofa, and we were sliding it out the truck when another friend showed up, so I went to slide it back in the truck and jammed Sloans two big toe nails… he was wearing flip-flops, so it was pretty nasty… ughh, I felt soo bad…. but even he admitted he should not move wearing flip flops… but I should have also warned him the sofa was coming back at him… he will be limping around for a few days… I still feel sooo bad… I know it hurt… bad…

Chris is always wanting to update his MySpace photo and when he gets the camera in hand, he starts taking self photos (I think I am a bad influence on him)… I just don’t think he realizes there is a birthday card with a naked man and his huge cock right next to his face in this photo… but maybe he will now if he reads the blog… hehehehe. I am such a prick sometimes… anyway… Carey and Jeff fixed us some dinner and we watch Notes on a Scandal… that sweet old Judy Dench can be a real bitch! It was a cool movie… I recommend it. If we can peel ourselves out of the sun today, we have ‘The Queen’, ‘Volver’, and ‘The Last King of Scotland’ to watch…oh and ‘The Prestige’… I am sooo torn… how am I going to fit in all these movies, lying in the sun, dipping in the not so hot tub, and Housewives and Brothers and Sisters… I did not win the lottery, so I can’t just sluff off work tomorrow… yikes… oh well, I will get to them soon enough…

Yup… As I figured… so much dicking around, I finally finished the coffee and made the switch to screwdrivers… hell, it is after 10, so I can do this… I wanted a bloody mary, but we are out of mix… dammit… anyway, I hope everyone has had a great weekend… I may or may not have more pics tomorrow from today… oh, and to tease you for HNT… I will be having a guest star for this weeks pic… hehehehe…

So I woke up at the crack ass of dawn today… and I did not have to be at work… ughhh… so fixed coffee and dragged computer to front porch. I know I have posted before on how quiet the neighborhood is early on Sunday mornings, but Saturdays are a bit different. There is more movement. More folks getting shit done. I guess Saturday is the day everyone trys to get stuff done and Sunday is the true day of rest. Though the gayborhood is moving about, it is still somewhat quiet. While we were in Mexico, the weather finally got warm here and all of our stuff started to get green and bloom. So the front of the house is looking pretty good… I like it anyway. So I took a pic.

The blooms are just the start. Others will be popping up soon. My favorite lavendar rose bush is starting to bloom… yippie…anyway… I am having issues with my computer again. IE7 will not let me change my homepage. It keeps reverting back to msn.com, which is not what
